Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Health
The objective of the Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Health is to enable students to independently carry out work in communication, teaching, management and treatment within the areas of nutrition, food, consumption, service and home economics, with the purpose of promoting health.
The students will be qualified to take up employment internationally and nationally with private as well as public companies.
The education combines theory and practice, in a cross disciplinary manner. The students are presented to national and international researches within natural sciences, the humanities and social sciences.
Structure/Organisation of Education
The education is structured in 14 modules of 10 weeks. The first three semesters are basic for all – following the students have the choice of three different specializations, which covers four semesters:
• Health promotion, Prevention and Communication.
• Clinical Dietetics (Authorized Clinical Dietetics)
• Management, Food and Service.
Modules are based on a combination of lectures, discussions, as well as students group- and project work.
Modules in English
The Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Health presently offer two modules in English at the fourth semester level:
• Philosophy of science and methodology. The module focuses on key questions within philosophy of science relevant for the area of nutrition and health. During the module the students apply qualitative as well as quantitative research methods aiming at competence in research and documentation. (Link til Moduloversigt - tilgængelig September 2010)
• Nutrition and health in the Life Span. This module focuses on health- and food habits among selected groups in the society. The module deals with examples related to specific nutritional needs and physiological changes during life. On the basis hereof the students work with dietary counseling related to food- habits and culture.
