Internships
The Internships are an integrated part of the Bachelor's Degree in Global Nutrition and Health. You have the opportunity to go on internships in Denmark or abroad.
Internships gives you the opportunity to design you education in the adacemic direction you find interesting. An internship is also your chance to put theory into practice with hands-on experience in the real world. You can go on internships either in Denmark or abroad and thereby get an international dimension in your work. The internships are compulsory and profession-oriented. They are placed in the last four semesters (semesters 4,6 & 7). This means that you by then have gained professional and specialised competences which you can use to contribute to the work place.
There is a total of 21 weeks of internship:
- 8 weeks in semester 4
- 8 weeks in semester 6
- 5 weeks in semester 7 (the BA internship)
Aims of Internships
Going on Internships help you to:
- Develop professionalism and the ability to act in relation to your specialisation.
- Learn to convert theory into practice.
- Learn to handle relevant communicative, educational, development, management and policy tasks, as well as treatment tasks related to your specialisation.
- Become a part of the daily activities and working relationships at an institution or a private enterprise.
- Gain experience in the profession’s main fields of competency
- Gain experience in relation to your bachelor project.
- Establish networks with potential employers and experts in the specialisation chosen.
At the work place
When you are in an internship you may participate in work place routines or carry out special tasks for which the work place usually needs the skills of an expert. Such tasks may include:
- Collecting, analysing and preparing material/data
- Planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting management strategies to different target groups or individuals in order to promote health and prevent lifestyle disease
- Testing
- Working out pilot projects
- Preparing or revising material for communicative, educational and/or management purposes
Both parties are expected to benefit from the Internship.
