International Module - Module in English

Would you like to study one semester at our teacher education programme?

We offer a study period from mid-September to mid-January. Here you willl study together with Danish students as well as other erasmus students. You will study Global Didactics, 3 subjects (see below) and do teaching practice in a local school (30 ECTS points). All the courses in the module are taught in English. We study one subject a day (8.30am to 2pm) and the classes are a mix of teacher presentations, pair work and group work.

Besides this we offer a lively study environment with lots of activities outside the classroom e.g. choir, arts, sports. Not to forget that our college is situated in the centre of Copenhagen which opens up for a range of city activities.

We will help you find a place to live and you will also be linked to a mentor, who makes sure that you feel welcome at our college.

Hope to see you in September. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Here is what Maaja from Estonia thinks of the module

I decided to attend Erasmus program and I chose to do it in Denmark, in Læreruddannelserne metropol. Based on my stay there I say that nobody should in doubt weather to choose this school or not. The answer is yes!

There are several reasons I had a blast there. First and the most of all, I couldn`t have wished for more helpful and friendly staff and fellow students. I must say I was rather afraid of the class before, because it was together with Danish students not only Erasmus students. I didn`t expect them to have much interest in us, international students, but I couldn`t have been more wrong. I felt very welcomed among them.

In Denmark everybody have bikes, so did I. I got it along with a flat, that the school helped me to find. I know it sounds too good to be true. Usually attending Erasmus program also means a bunch of problems with accommodation, which I had no clue about. I lived only 5-6 km from school in a flat with another Erasmus student, where a landlady rented out two rooms. It was a perfect solution for me, because in addition to included bike it was also a very cheap place to live.

Being an Erasmus student doesn`t always mean only studying day after day. It`s a lot about experiences. I sqeezed the juice out of this program. I signed up for ballroom dancing courses. In school I went to choir every Thursday, which was fantastic! They had performances and great rehearsals.

There is definitely no need to be worried that there is no time for extracurricular activities. In fact the curriculum itself is compounds like a one-semester-activity: camp, sightseeing, studytrip tp Dublin, teaching practice, few days of school in a week meanwhile a taste of different subjects is being perceived, because of the rotation in between courses.

I definitely recommend anyone who really wants to become a teacher to use the chance to study in Læreruddannelserne Metropol. The great dynamic of the school and the city of Copenhagen are 101% worth it.
