About Crossing the Boundaries
Crossing the Boundaries is a transnational management training programme aimed at executive level women working in the public sector. It gathers participants and speakers from all over Europe. This set-up provides a unique framework for exchange of experience across different organisations and also for promoting female perspectives on leadership.
Through a mix of lectures and workshops, the programme enables participants to work and navigate in ever-changing cross cultural settings, understanding boundaries such as personality, corporate culture and gender. The strengthening of high level management and leadership skills is accompanied by a deep understanding of the way and value of networking.
Participation in the programme demands a high degree of personal involvement.
Who should attend
Women working at senior level+ in the public sector i.e. national adminstrations and international organisations.
Key issues and structure
The visionary and non-taditional programme covers 4 main themes:
- Personal leadership and leadership capacity.
- Strategy and strategic leadership prosesses.
- Women in management and diversity management.
- European and global trends as a mean to improve elaboration of future organisational strategies.

To many participants Crossing the Boundaries has been the gateway to higher job positions, extended and improved work with leadership and strategy and not to forget - a new, professional and strong network. It is a fact, that several networks established during a Crossing the Boundaries programme still exists and are active including annual re-unions etc.
Programme set-up
A mix of lectures and workshops. Speakers are from European universities and management institutes, top managers from international and public sector organisations throughout Europe.
Crossing the Boundaries is devided into 5 modules of 4 days each.
Each module is being hosted in a European city.
Language
Working launguage is English. It is important that participants prossess adequate language skills.
Who is behind Crossing the Boundaries?
The programme has been developed and is managed by the Metropolitan University College. The programme has been designed and supported by a network of public institutions around Europe. Due to its organic nature, the programme is adjusted and develops constantly.
